VG247 set the game 4 out of 5 points, calling it a positive step in the right direction:

The Bloody Disgusting portal gave the game 4.5 out of 5 points, calling it a return to the previous style:
"Mortal Kombat 1 is the return of the series in the previous channel and at the same time impetus in new significant directions. This is an ideal entry point for beginners and long -standing fans of the series. It will appeal not only to fans of the fighting wings with their depth of battle, but also to lovers of a single game who are looking for a lot of content".
And finally, the site of the fauting of Eventhubs rated the game at 8.5 points out of 10, calling it "better", than Mortal Kombat 11:

Netherrealm Studios promised the development of the gameplay, and this promise was fulfilled in full. In addition, the game has a lot of single content for ordinary players.
