During the BGS 2023 exhibition, which took place in San Paulo, the local media managed to chat with Fabiano Vassao, the Brazilian artist who was the creator of the user interface for Assassin’s Creed Mirage, so it turned out how carefully Ubisoft approached the work on the project.
Before Vassao joined the Ubisoft Bordeaux studio, he worked in smaller projects related to games. But he got into this sphere only when he was invited to work on Mirage, which became his first large -budget game.
According to the Brazilian, as the director for the user interface of the new part "Assassinov" The most difficult task was to find a balance between the old and modern features of the franchise, while retaining a pure and attractive aesthetics close to the player. In addition, for the first time the game was developed mainly in Arabic, which was reflected in the visual style in general.
Usually English is used by default. For example, all configurations are first structured in English. But in our case, everything is different. Mirage was the first game of the franchise, which was created and localized first in Arabic. We wanted it to be more likely "Return to the basics". And then the user interface introduces a new standard in Arabic, so we developed everything taking into account this.
According to Vassao, in the Mirage logo there is a hidden message in Arabic.
A typographic is woven into the logo, which was created with the participation of Arab scientists and reads: "The Hidden One" – a group that was the predecessor of the Order of the Assassins". "We wanted to create a game in a very good manner, so local researchers, historians and consultants helped us. Ubisoft is very appreciated by such care.

In conclusion, Fabiano Vassao confirmed that, like most of the Brazilian fans of Assassin’s Creed, he also dreams that one of the franchise games take place in Brazil. But he does not think that this will happen in the near future.
I think the development trend of the franchise is that it begins to approach Latin America. But this is also more like my desire! [For example, imagine that a lost city in Amazon will be included in the game. Take something historical and insert it into the universe of Assassin’s Creed. I think that would be very cool. We have a lot of history and a lot of culture for this, it would be the perfect combination. Do I think that this will happen? Maybe. But should this happen in the near future? I don’t think so. In my opinion, they are still going to explore many locations outside this region
Assassin’s Creed Mirage is available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One and PC.
