On the eve of the global exit of the game Layers of Fear in June of this year, Bloober Team and Anshar Studios shared new gameplayed personnel showing the work on the Unreal Engine 5 engine.
The video demonstrates completely new mechanics and amazing visual improvements compared to the original, and this will be one of the first games released on Unreal Engine 5.
Layers of Fear represents new basic gaming mechanics, and one of these improvements is to add a lantern, a useful tool that will be indispensable in the confrontation of the fears lurking in the plot of the game.
The musical accompaniment of the game was also updated: Ark Reikovsky, two -time nominee in the category "The best soundtrack" Hollywood Music in Media Awards and winner of Digital Dragons award for the best soundtrack for The Medium, wrote a score that gives the game additional tension.
Creating a game from scratch to maximize all the capabilities of the engine, the developer focuses on creating "holistic, exciting horror with unsurpassed technical characteristics".
Layers of Fear supports rays trace, HDR and 4K resolution to increase visual accuracy and realism. Reflections in the game and general graphic accuracy will be noticeable. In addition, the game uses global Lumen lighting to achieve dynamic lighting, the visual effects of Niagara to create the effects of particles in real time and the Action System Controls management system to improve the process of developing and optimizing all gaming mechanics.
The game looks like it will like it both fans and beginners of the franchise, since it includes an original game, Layers of Fear 2, as well as all DLC, including a new chapter called The Final Note. The new chapter is an alternative view of the plot of the first game.
Layers of Fear will also be presented by the previously not previously described story of a writer who connects all parts of the series together.
The game will be released in June for PC via Epic Games Store and for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
